"Consciousness Expansion": On October 14, 2020, I hired a builder to add an addition on my house the main purpose of which was to expand my (M)Usic Rm to enable all of my instrument collection to be out & available for playing.  The builder promised that he'd be able to build the external wood structure in 3 weeks.  7 weeks later that still wasn't done.  His helper had stopped working with him so I'd been helping him against my original intention.  After 7 weeks, I had to dismiss this builder & take over the job on my own - with the occasional help of some friends.  Given that I was 67, this was quite a task for me to take on but it boiled down to either I'd do it or it wouldn't get done at all.  

I documented this process fairly thoroughly, shooting an untolled amount of footage probably amounting to over 700 hours's worth.  I made multiple documentaries, each of which got longer & longer until "Phase 06" was 5 & a half hours.  There were 8 documentaries until I got to the point of making this one which is a  dramatically reduced, but still long, edit of those 8 together.  This involved taking roughly 15 hours of edited material & editing it further down to almost 20%.  Much informative detail, especially of a more diary nature, was removed.  

It's been strange going through all the footage.  Even though I've taken on very ambitious projects my whole life this was one where even looking at the footage of it is somewhat 'painful' for me.  It amazes me, in retrospect, that I was able to force myself to keep at it, it was far more of a labor than even this movie can show.  Be that as it may, the main goal was accomplished by August & the addition has been in use since then, it serves its purpose.  

I call this "Consciousness Expansion" because I feel like being forced both by the QUARANTYRANNY & the lack of typical social functioning that that created AND a limited supply of funds led to my having to expand my personal consciousness in order to meet the challenge.  I also call it "Consciousness Expansion" because the (M)Usic that's now being produced in the extension is, I hope, something mainly accessible to the outer reaches of the human imagination.  I wanted to emphasize that Consciouness Expansion doesn't have to revolve around drug use.
